Here’s Why
Upon returning home to New Braunfels after two and a half years of living in Germany, I was incredibly shocked and disappointed in the amount of waste I was seeing around me. Our first trip to HEB had me distraught over the number of single-use plastic bags that were being loaded up. My first time eating at a local burger joint that serves exclusively with disposables had me angered.
After sitting in my frustration, anger, and disappointment, I decided to start educating friends and family on the simple changes we can make in our community to reduce waste.

Our mission at Zero Waste New Braunfels is to educate and inspire community members to adopt sustainable practices and reduce waste.
We are committed to providing valuable resources and information to facilitate small, yet significant actions toward a more “gruene” New Braunfels.
